I hope you all had a wonderful summer vacation. Today, on 9/10, marks the first day of classes for the 2023-2024 academic year at the Chinese school. I’d like to inform you about two changes in the management of the school.
Firstly, due to physical reasons, Wang Shan will be taking some time for self-cultivation. Xu Hongmei will be assuming her position as the vice principal. She will be responsible for organizing various activities within the Chinese school and maintaining communication with the PTO.
Secondly, Yang Yanfei will be stepping into the role of School Assistant. Yang will assist in contacting and coordinating new projects initiated by the school. We believe these changes in management will contribute to the continued prosperity and development of the Chinese school.
For your information, all Chinese classes, except for the Adult Chinese Class, will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Ma Liping’s class teaching materials will be distributed to students during class. The cost for each set of textbooks for Ma Liping’s students in grades one to nine is $70, and each set for Ma Liping’s Kindergarten class is $60. We kindly request that parents prepare the book fees and have students hand them directly to the teachers when collecting their books. If you are considering class adjustments, please inform parents and students to wait until the class assignments are confirmed before opening the textbooks. The school will not be able to process refunds for opened textbooks.
Parking is available in the lot behind the Westwood High School building. You’ll find the Chinese school logo at the entrance. Upon entering the building, our Chinese school management staff will be there to greet you, answer your questions, and direct you to the respective classrooms (each classroom door will have the course name posted). Families who have not yet made payments can do so on-site.
Please refer to the table below for classroom assignments. Regarding updates and activities within the Chinese school, please keep an eye on email notifications and group messages for further information. We sincerely appreciate all of your support and understanding. Here’s to another successful school year! We eagerly anticipate meeting with you all!
Warm regards,
Jieping
